Skin ages all over the body, but much more when there has been sun exposure. Most wrinkles appear on the parts of the body where sun exposure is greatest such as the face, neck, backside of hands, and tops of forearms. Factors promoting wrinkling include smoking, light skin type, heredity, hairstyle, dress, and occupational and recreational habits.
Wrinkles come in two categories: fine surface lines and deep furrows. Wrinkle treatments are in general much more effective for fine lines. Deeper creases typically require a more aggressive technique, such as injection of fillers.
